Western Swing Hall of Fame Induction

Jack and Sandra Naughton of the Jack City Blues Band were inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame at a formal awards ceremony in Sacramento, California held on Sunday, October 2, 2011.

Although currently staunch supporters and musicians of blues music, these two musicians have also performed and supported western swing music for many years. They were honored for their musicianship, and for their dedication and commitment to the preservation, promotion, and perpetuation of Western Swing music.

A major project of the Western Swing Society is the Hall of Fame, honoring individuals deemed important in the preservation of this music through performance careers, during which the honoree(s) performed western swing music for many years before large audiences.

Western swing music is best described as a blend of big band, blues, Dixieland, jazz and swing.
